When you need some house movers there are a few important things that you should consider: While there are many movers that advertise on the side of the road or on community boards, many of these house movers will not be insured. It is important that you choose a reputable, insured house moving company so that if any of your valuable items get broken during the move - then you will be compensated. When talking to the representative at the moving company, be sure to accurately describe the amount of stuff you have in your house. Sometimes people say that they have much less than they really do and then it doesn't all fit into one truck and you get charged extra hours for the extra trip. Most house moving companies have a few different sizes of trucks. Even though most reputable companies are quite safe, it is recommended that if you have any valuable items that are easily broken, you may want to take them yourself in your own vehicle. Generally movers will not take off their shoes when they are in your home as they want to protect their feet. If you have a new carpet and are worried about it getting dirty, be sure to request that the moving company brings some plastic or covering to put down so that you are not responsible for a big carpet cleaning bill. Be sure that you don't leave booking your move to the last minute or week for that matter. As the majority of moves take place at the end of the month, many reputable companies will be booked solid for the last week of the month. I recommend that you book your move one month in advance. If you are moving into a new home that is smaller it is a good idea to plan so that you don't bring more stuff than you can fit. Make a plan to get rid of any items that you don't need which are just sitting around collecting dust in your attic or garage. You may want to donate these items to your local Salvation Army, you can simply drop them off during weekdays. Some charitable companies in your area may come to your home to pick up the items. Again, I highly advise you to select a reputable moving company so that all of your things make it safely to your new home. Remember to book your house movers ahead of time and also to confirm with them a week before your move. |
